Easter in NYC

Over the Easter break, Ross and I met my family in NYC. They flew in from North Carolina and we took the bus to NYC.

My parents have never been to NYC, so we did all a lot of site seeing. We saw a Broadway Show, Lady Liberty, 911, Empire State Building, and China Town.

It was great seeing my family again. My parents really enjoyed the trip, a lot different from North Carolina though.

Cherry Blossom 10 Miler

Sunday morning Ross and I ran in the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler. The race started at 7:40 am in front of the Washington Monument. There were over 10,000 people running in the race.

The morning of the race was very beautiful, but very crowed. The race went around the monument, tidal basin, and towards the east potomac.

The race took us an hour and thirty minutes to complete. This was a great experience and great training for our upcoming marathon.

Note I made my shirt, in lieu of the North Carolina Championship.

Final Four!!

I have been following UNC all season (since October). I am a huge basketball fan. Before moving to D.C. I lived in Chapel Hill for 2 years.
I am so excited about UNC making it to the Final Four.

We won our last championship in 2005, I am crossing my fingers for WIN this year. This coming Saturday, UNC with play NOVA at 9pm. If we win, we will play next Monday for the National Championship title.

Stay Tuned... GO HEELS!!

Antietam Battlefield

This past Saturday I went to Antietam Battlefield in Maryland. Ross and I spent the day touring and walking all over the battle grounds.

Antietam is about 1 1/2 away from Arlington, it's a beautiful drive. The whole battle took place on about 16 miles of land.

They have done a great job with restoring and the maintenance of the grounds. They have walking, biking, and driving paths you can take. They have several different maps you can use along your exploration.
I would recommend everyone to check this battlefield out. YOU will learn a lot!!

Spring Break comes to an END...

As I wrote earlier, my parents came for the beginning of my Spring Break..

The rest of my break I spent writing my Senior Seminar paper for Dr. Fallon. The paper is due in April, but I wanted to get a jump start. I have choose the topic, "Gender Differences in the Workplace".

The weather was nice towards the end of the week, so I went over the park across the street from my house and worked on my paper there.

Also, last Thursday I had my interview with Pediatric Care (non-profit organization that deals with kids and families that has HIV/AIDS), and I got the internship. I will doing there Event Planning of the Summer, I'm so excited.

Everything is coming together, the weather is getting warmer and only 8 weeks till graduation :)

Back to North Carolina they go....

My parents arrived Friday around 5pm. I gave them a tour of our new house, which they loved. Then Friday night I cooked dinner, pork chops stuffed with pineapples. We just relaxed and played the Wii all night. Saturday morning we went and had brunch at Witlows in Arlington. During the day we went to the Eastern Market, American History Museum, and Air and Space Museum. And yes, we had space ice cream :). Saturday night, we took my parents to dinner at Morton's in Georgetown, it was amazing. They left early Sunday morning due to the weather.
Having my parents in town was awesome. Now, the rest of my spring break will be working on my Senior Seminar Paper.
